A History of English & British Coronations

Patrons can see all 4 parts of my Coronation History series today, at: https://www.patreon.com/LindsayHoliday

The coronation of King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla is unique in modern times. The United Kingdom is the only monarchy in Europe which still holds coronations. Today let’s explore the 1000 year evolution of the English and British coronation. From the crown stolen from Edward the Confessors grave, to Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon’s lavish coronation clothes and feast. From making copies of the throne and regalia for the crowning of co-monarchs William and Mary to the outrage of putting Elizabeth II’s coronation on *gasp* television. Then I’ll walk you through the rituals, regalia, relics and everything else we are likely to see during the coronation of Charles III and Camilla.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can we learn from the past?

There are three lessons we've learned from history. First, you must do it yourself when you change the world. The second is to ensure that people are ready to accept change in their lives. Third, the future must be better if you want to change it.

The first lesson we can learn is that there are only two ways to transform the world. One is fight for it. When you fight for it, you focus on winning and lose sight of why you started fighting in the first place.

While you cannot control their reactions to your ideas or how they present them, you can influence how they are presented. If you attempt to convince someone of something, you'll fail. But if you set out to inspire someone to action, you'll succeed.

Every great movement began with someone who had an idea and decided that they would act on it. No matter whether you are creating change, or reacting to it. Here are three ways you can make your mark: Be clear about the things you want, be honest with where you came from, be courageous enough to go where no other person has gone before, and be clear about who you are.

The second lesson we learn is that everyone has the option to choose. You can either let your life happen or you can choose to make it happen. This means we must decide what kind of life we want to lead. Are we willing to wait for someone to allow us to live? Or do we want to take charge of our destiny?

We are living in a golden age, I would argue. There are more possibilities than ever before, which has created a lot of excitement. People feel empowered to make their own futures and that's very exciting.

It can also cause problems. It's difficult for people to know exactly what they want or how to achieve it.

For example, let's say you want to buy a house. You could wait and see if someone gives you Home Depot gift certificates. Or you could ask yourself, "What would I love to do?" You can then search for a job where you can do it. Then, you can apply for financing.

Let's pretend you want to travel all over the globe. Perhaps you are asking, "Where do i want to go?" You might then start saving money and researching other countries online. You'd then book a ticket.

Let's assume you didn't really know what you wanted. In this case, you'd probably end-up doing one of the things. By asking yourself such questions, you increase the likelihood of getting what your heart desires. It may seem odd, but it works.

The third lesson is to never lose sight of the possibility of improving the future. It's easy. Our choices affect who and what we become.

Use history to your advantage, to learn from other people's failures and successes and to keep improving until success.

You're already behind if you don't think you have anything to offer the world. You must believe that you are capable of doing more than you thought possible.

Start with what you already know. Start small and build from there. Consider what you have learned over the course of your life. What have your failures been? Which areas have you excelled? What were your greatest achievements?

Don't forget to remember that only you can limit your potential. No matter how much anyone tells, you can achieve anything you set your mind.

In the words of Benjamin Franklin, "Nothing will work unless you do."

Can learning about history stop us from repeating past mistakes?

History repeats itself because we keep making the same mistakes again and again. We fail to learn from the mistakes we make. We don't change. We get complacent. We settle for mediocrity.

History repeats itself because we believe the same old stories. Our culture has conditioned us to believe there is an immutable law and a fixed truth. That we cannot do anything to affect them.

This prevents us thinking critically. From questioning authority. Questioning authority. We don't grow if we don’t question. If we don't grow we stagnate. We repeat the same mistakes when we stagnate.

However, history does not repeat itself because we keep making the same mistakes. We don't learn from our mistakes, and we keep repeating the same mistakes over and over.

You can end the cycle of history repetition by changing the way that you view the world. By understanding that nothing is permanent, you can see the possibilities. Nothing is permanent. All things are in constant flux.

To break the cycle, embrace uncertainty. Accept that things might go wrong. To accept that we may not succeed. Accepting that failure is possible.

Accept that your goals may not be achieved. You can accept this, but you must continue to strive for improvement.

It's impossible to move forward if you hold onto the past. If you insist on the existence of fixed truths, then you will never move forward.

You can't control your destiny. You must let go of control if you want to move forward.

What Can We Learn From Abraham Lincoln?

Abraham Lincoln said that he was slow to learn, but quick to forget.

He was conscious of how important it was for him to keep learning. He also understood that he would eventually have to learn new habits.

The same applies to our businesses. No matter how meticulously we plan for success and what our goals are, there will be moments when we get stuck in a rut.

It is crucial to continue to learn and grow. Even after we achieve success, it is essential to continue learning.

Lincoln was the right person. He understood that his business could be more successful, but he couldn’t afford to stop learning.

There are two types entrepreneurs. They are those who are busy and those that stay smart.

Those who keep busy are focused on their business' growth. They focus on customer service and marketing strategies.

While they may feel they have accomplished something worthwhile, many times they don't. Entrepreneurs who aren't focused on learning more won't see sustainable growth.

What sets successful entrepreneurs apart from ordinary ones? You are able to adapt quickly to changing conditions.

Successionable entrepreneurs look for ways that they can improve their products or services when faced with difficult situations.

The average businessperson, however, will continue to use outdated methods that don't work. They don't want to change until the business goes under.

For success, you need to be skilled in both adaptation and self-reflection.

Who was the original person to have said that historical people don't learn.

While we all would love to live in an ideal world that everyone learns from past mistakes, it is not possible to learn from our own mistakes.

It's not better to try something wrong than to learn how to do it right.

The only real mistake is not trying to ensure you do it right the first time.

Changes are inevitable, and you will eventually realize why you made them.

You might even realize that you could have done this better the first attempt.

It doesn't mean that you shouldn't continue to try. This means that you have learned a lot.

It may not always be possible to avoid making errors, but it is possible minimize them. This is the difference that makes the difference of success and failure.

Acknowledging your mistakes begins the process. Then look at them objectively and ask yourself: "What did I learn?"

Your mistakes will only be lessons if your honesty is honest. They're opportunities to grow.

Thomas Edison experienced exactly that. He failed numerous times before finally inventing light bulbs.

He didn't let his failures discourage him. Instead, he used each one as an opportunity to improve his design.

He invented the best form of lighting that is popular today.

So, if you fail, don't get discouraged. Learn from your mistakes. You should learn from your mistakes.

And then, you can try again.

How To

What can humanity learn about the past failures of our ancestors and how can they be improved?

We've been here before. But there's nothing wrong with learning from history. It may even help humanity weather another crisis.

It's possible to survive if we remain open-minded and continue to learn from our mistakes.

It is difficult to learn from the past, and to accept that our human nature hasn’t changed significantly since the beginning.

There are many wisdoms in the old methods, but because they clash with our beliefs, we tend to ignore them. So instead of embracing changes, we find difficult, we cling to the familiar.

But the world keeps changing, and the way we live together constantly evolves. Our environment is becoming increasingly complex and we have more problems to solve.

This means that we also need to make changes. This makes us more susceptible to failure, as we won't have the same strategies that worked previously.

This can lead to us losing sight of our core values and becoming slaves to our routines.

Our brains evolved to adapt and cope with conditions that existed thousands upon thousands of year ago. These days aren’t over forever.

The future isn't written in stone. There is still much to be done.

Humans are capable of doing amazing feats. We have the ability to create incredible technologies. To explore unknown frontiers.

We often limit ourselves. To fear change. To reject evolution. To believe that what worked yesterday will work tomorrow.

This trend is being fought by some people. They see themselves as warriors against the status quo. Fighting against the system. Against the system.

They are rebels who pride themselves on challenging the conventions of society. They challenge the social norms and conventions.

They rebel against rules and regulations. They hate conformity. They don't care about social expectations. They believe they know more than anyone else.

To them, I say "Good Luck!"

You're going to need it!

You're facing a difficult battle. The forces driving mainstream society are strong.

In many places around the globe, the majority has no interest in listening to you. No interest in considering your point of view.

No matter how brilliant and well-intentioned your ideas are, it doesn't make a difference. Your ideas might not catch on with the masses.

Your message could fall on deaf ears. That's why you might need some history lessons.

Because this is where the real power lies. You can make a real difference here.

You can encourage others to pursue their dreams. These are the places where you can make a difference and transform the world.

Let me ask: Are you willing to live up to the expectations of others? Would you prefer to choose your own path?
