On January 15th, 2009, US Airways Flight 1549 and Captain Sully takes off from La Guarda airport in New York. Weather conditions are perfect for a smooth flight and the 155 passengers and crew expect nothing more than an uneventful two-hour journey to Charlotte in North Carolina. But within minutes of take-off, the plane has barely reached 3000 feet when it collides with a flock of Canadian geese and the plane's twin engines fail. The airbus begins to drop at 18 feet per second and Captain Sully has just seconds to react. After assessing his limited options, he decides the Hudson River is the only viable location to make an emergency landing. Against the odds, Captain Sully holds his nerve and executes a near text book landing on the Hudson, keeping the plane in one piece and everybody on board alive. He is heralded a national hero and the incident goes down in aviation history as a 'miracle'.
In August 2001, Air Transat Flight 236 is flying from Toronto to Portugal when a fuel leak causes the plane to lose all power while over the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Hundreds of miles from land, captain Robert Piche glides the plane towards the Azores archipelago praying they will make it in time. Just when the crew think they’ll have to ditch the craft in the ocean, they catch sight of Lajes Island and prepare to land without power. Nineteen minutes after running out of fuel, the plane touches down hard, bouncing several times but eventually comes to a stop just 700 meters from the threshold of the runway, blowing eight tyres in the process. Miraculously, everyone survives with minimal injuries and Captain Piche breaks records for the longest glide of a commercial craft in history.
In November 1996 Ethiopian Airlines Flight 961 is en route from Addis Ababa to Nairobi when three hijackers storm the cockpit claiming to have a bomb they will detonate if the crew doesn't satisfy their demands. The hijackers want to seek asylum in Australia and order the pilot to fly them there, having read in the flight magazine that with a full tank the plane’s maximum flying time is eleven hours. Although Captain Leul Abate explains they only have enough fuel on board for the planned flight to Nairobi, the hijackers don't believe it and make him keep flying. When the plane eventually runs out of fuel and loses engine power, the hijackers begin to fight the captain for the controls. Although Captain Abate tries to safely ditch the aircraft in shallow waters off the northern end of Grande Comoros island, the hijacker's disturbance means the left engine and wingtip strikes the water first. The engine then acts as a scoop and strikes a coral reef, slowing that side of the aircraft quickly and causing the Boeing 767 to suddenly tilt left. The rest of the aircraft then enters the water unevenly, causing it to break apart and tragically, 125 on board are fatally injured.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are three things you can learn from history?
History is full of examples of how we can learn from our mistakes. We can apply them to today's business challenges and turn them into opportunities for growth.
The past has taught us that there is always a better way. You will always find someone who thinks outside of the box and takes chances that make them stand out.
History shows us that often, it's the underdogs and not the winners who win. You can look back at those times when the underdog won.
Take a look back at the past to learn from it and make improvements for the future. Learn from the failures and successes of others.
These lessons will help you increase your success rate.
How To Easily Learn From The Victories and Mistakes of Human History?
It doesn't take long for history to make a comeback. It doesn't take much time at all to learn from the mistakes of human history. Be sure to not repeat the mistakes!
It is important to learn from the past and to apply these lessons to your business.
You can do this by reading books on leadership and management strategies and case studies of successful companies that have been around for decades.
By doing this, you can draw inspiration and avoid the same pitfalls they did.
It is also possible to study the bankruptcy cases of other businesses. Why did they fail? Are there any common themes among these failures? These insights can help to avoid costly mistakes.
Finally, learn about the lives of historical figures like Abraham Lincoln (John D. Rockefeller), Steve Jobs (Steve Jobs), and Elon Musk. Although they had some of most impressive resumes anywhere, none knew how manage people or run businesses. So if you want to learn from their experiences, you need to find out why they made so many mistakes.
Learning from human history's mistakes and victories is simple. Just spend a few minutes each day thinking about what worked in the past and how you can apply it today.
What are some lessons learned from history?
We have three lessons from history. First, to truly change the world, one must take responsibility for it. Second, when you change how people live, you must ensure they're ready for it. Third, you can't change the past without changing the future.
The first lesson we can learn is that there are only two ways to transform the world. One is fighting for it, the other is creating it. If you fight for it you lose sight on why you started to fight.
You cannot control what people think, but you can make sure they like the way you present them. If you attempt to convince someone of something, you'll fail. But, if your goal is to inspire someone to act, you'll be successful.
The idea of a great movement was born when someone had it and took action. Whether you are creating change or responding to it, these are the three best ways to make your mark. Be clear about what is important to you, be open about where you came from, and dare to go where no one else has.
The second lesson is the fact that we all have the power to make our lives better. We have two options: we can wait for life to happen to you or we can make it happen. This means that it is up to us to decide how we want our lives to be. Do we wait for someone else to permit us to live? Or are we ready to decide our fate?
We are living in a golden age, I would argue. There's more opportunity than ever before, creating a lot of excitement. People feel empowered to create their futures, and that's exciting.
However, it can also be a problem. It's not easy to know what you want or how to get it. Therefore, it is important to identify what you want and then find a way.
For example, let's say you want to buy a house. You could either sit back and expect someone to gift you a Home Depot gift certificate. You can also ask yourself: "What would my dream job be?" Find a job that will allow you to do it. Next, apply for financing.
Now, let's say you wanted to travel the world. The question you might be asking yourself is "Where do I want go?" The next step is to start saving money, research countries online, talk with friends, etc. Then, you book a trip.
Now, let's say you didn't know what you wanted. You would most likely do one of these things. By asking yourself such questions, you increase the likelihood of getting what your heart desires. This may seem absurd, but it works.
The third lesson is to never lose sight of the possibility of improving the future. The reason is simple. Our choices affect who and what we become.
The trick to success is to look back at history and learn from their mistakes and successes.
If you don’t feel you have any value to the world, you are already behind. You must believe in yourself and that you are more than you believed.
Don't worry if you don't know where you should start. Start small and move on. Consider what you have learned over the course of your life. What have you failed at? What are you proud of? How have you overcome obstacles?
You are the only person who can limit what you can do. No matter what anyone may say, you can do whatever you want.
Benjamin Franklin once said that "Nothing will work without you."
Are we able to learn from past mistakes and avoid making the same mistakes again?
Because we keep repeating the same mistakes, history repeats itself. We do not learn from our failures. We don't change. We become complacent. We settle for mediocrity.
History also repeats itself because we keep believing the same old stories. We have been taught to believe there are unchanging laws and fixed truths. We cannot change them.
This makes it difficult to think critically. To question authority. From challenging assumptions. If we don’t ask questions, we don’t grow. When we don't learn, we stagnate. Stamina is when we continue to make the same mistakes.
But history isn't the same because we continue making the same mistakes. We don't learn from our mistakes, and we keep repeating the same mistakes over and over.
It is possible to break the cycle of history repetition. You can change the way you see the world, and your perspective by realizing that nothing is fixed in stone. Everything is subject to constant flux. All things are subject to constant change.
Uncertainty is key to breaking the cycle. To accept that things could go wrong. Accepting the possibility that we might not succeed. To accept that failure is a possibility.
Accept that you may never achieve your goals. You can accept this, but you must continue to strive for improvement.
If you hold fast to certainty, you'll always be stuck in the past. If you hold on to the belief that there are certain truths, you'll never be able to move forward.
You can't control your destiny. To move forward, you must give up control.

How To
What can humanity learn from our ancestors' past mistakes?
We've been there before, and we'll be back. But there's nothing wrong with learning from history. It could even help humanity get through another crisis.
We can make it if we are open-minded and seek out lessons that will help us move forward.
The problem is when people fail to learn and refuse to recognize that humanity hasn't changed much from its beginning.
There is much wisdom in the old ways but we tend ignore them because they don't fit with our beliefs. We instead of making changes we find difficult we stick to the familiar.
But the world keeps changing, and the way we live together constantly evolves. Our environment is becoming increasingly complex and we have more problems to solve.
That means we need to change too. We're more likely to fail if we don't use the same strategies as before.
When we do that, we lose sight of our values and become slaves to our habits.
Our brains have evolved to adapt to environments that were thousands of years old. But these days aren't over.
The future doesn't seem set in stone. There is still plenty of room for improvement.
Humans are still capable of great feats. We have the ability to create incredible technologies. To discover new frontiers, and explore unexplored territory.
But we choose to be limited. To fear change. To reject evolution. To believe that what worked yesterday will work tomorrow.
This trend is being fought by some people. They view themselves as rebels against the status quo. Fighting against the system. Oppose the system.
They see themselves as rebels who take pride in defying convention. They challenge the social norms and conventions.
They rebel against rules and regulations. They don't like conformity. They are not concerned about social expectations. They think they are superior to everyone else.
These people, I wish them all good luck!
You will need it!
Because you are facing an uphill battle. Mainstream society is driven by powerful forces.
Many people around the world have no interest in hearing your point of view. There is little interest in your point-of-view.
It doesn't matter if you're brilliant or well-intentioned. You might not find the right people to share your ideas.
Your message could go unheard. That's precisely why you'll need strange lessons from the past.
Because that's where the real power is. This is where you truly can make a difference.
This is where you can inspire others to follow their dreams. Where you can build movements that transform societies.
Let me ask you one question. Do you want your life to be lived up to others' expectations? Would you prefer to choose your own path?
