Pilger visited the Strategic Arms Command Headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska, which controls a network of missile bases throughout America, and also one of the missile bases at Grand Forks, North Dakota. He also speaks to the pilot of one of the B52 bombers equipped to carry four nuclear bombs. The enormous US defence budget for nuclear weapons may be seen by some as the ultimate deterrent, but Pilger worries about the possibility of an accidental detonation
