Series in which historian Bettany Hughes and Ben Robinson presents a unique look at Britain's past by taking to the air in a bid to unlock secrets hidden in the landscape. In this edition, they are at Sutton Hoo in Suffolk to investigate Britain's very own Valley of the Kings, a mysterious landscape of royal Saxon burials that includes the greatest discovery of treasure ever made in the UK. Yet it was only 70 years ago that an amateur archaeologist discovered that the mysterious mounds were the burial ground of some of the most powerful Saxon kings. The priceless treasures from the site are now in the British museum, so Ben uses the octocopter to try to solve the mystery of how this incredibly important site was lost for over a thousand years. The aerial investigation reveals a story of grand boat burials and mythical symbolism, while Bettany discovers the surprising role music and poetry played in the survival of the richest grave ever found in Britain.
