In 2013, NASA revealed they programmed the curiosity rover's sample-analysis unit. The team of engineers programmed the Curiosity rover to vibrate a musical tune. So from inside a dark Martian crater, millions of miles away from home, the Mars Curiosity sang “Happy Birthday” to itself.
