The situation in Vietnam in 1973, after peace had officially been declared is investigated by journalist John Pilger, who returns to the scene from which he previously despatched his war correspondent reports. American involvement is still strong - a South Vietnamese Government spokesman puts it as high as 6,500 American personnel, many of them former members of the American armed forces - and the local populace still have to contend with mines and other legacies of the war
