The Most Noble Order of the Garter sneaks into so many of my videos. Nearly ever significant member of the English and British royal family since the 1300s, and a number of foreign royals have been knights or ladies of the garter. And the symbols of the order can be spotted in SO. MANY. ROYAL. PORTRAITS. if you know where to look. Most recently the order made an appearance in pop culture when William, Prince of Wales and other senior royal men wore garter robes to the coronation of King Charles III. And on Monday, the 19th of June 2023, Garter day, the order met at Windsor castle, for the first time under King Charles, to induct 2 new members. So what is a chivalric order? What is the history of the Order of the garter? Why is their symbol a piece of women’s lingerie? And who are it’s member? And I’ll tell you about the orders behind the bright blue and red robes Catherine, Princess of Wales and the other female royals were wearing and the green velvet mantle sported by Princess Anne.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can we learn from the past?

History has taught us three important lessons. First, it is up to you to make a difference in the world. Second, it is essential to prepare people for change if you want to transform their lives. Third, you can't change the past without changing the future.

First, there are two ways to make the world better. One is fighting for it, the other is creating it. When you fight for it, you focus on winning and lose sight of why you started fighting in the first place.

It is impossible to control how people respond to your ideas. However, it is possible to control how you present them. If you attempt to convince someone of something, you'll fail. However, if you are determined to motivate someone to take action, you will succeed.

Most great movements began because somebody had an idea and decided to act upon it. No matter whether you are creating change, or reacting to it. Here are three ways you can make your mark: Be clear about the things you want, be honest with where you came from, be courageous enough to go where no other person has gone before, and be clear about who you are.

The second lesson we learn is that everyone has the option to choose. Either we wait for the right circumstances to unfold or we can make them happen. This means we must decide what kind of life we want to lead. Do we expect someone else to let us live? Or do you want to be in control of your destiny?

I think we're living a golden time right now. There is more opportunity than ever, which makes it exciting. It's exciting to see people feel empowered to shape their future.

But it also creates a problem. It's not easy to know what you want or how to get it. Therefore, it is important to identify what you want and then find a way.

Let's take, for example, the desire to purchase a house. Or you could just sit back and wait for someone to give you a gift card to Home Depot. Or, you can ask yourself, "What do I love to be doing?" Then, look for a job that lets you do it. Next, apply for financing.

Now, let's say you wanted to travel the world. It's possible to ask, "Where do you want to travel?" Next, you might start saving money, looking up countries online, and talking to your friends. The final step is to book a flight.

Let's suppose you don't know what you want. If that were the case, you would probably do one of those things anyway. By asking yourself such questions, you increase the likelihood of getting what your heart desires. It may seem silly, but it works.

The third lesson is to never lose sight of the possibility of improving the future. It is easy to see why. Your choices influence who you are and what you become.

Use history to your advantage, to learn from other people's failures and successes and to keep improving until success.

If you don't believe you have something to offer the world, you're already behind. You must believe that you are capable of doing more than you thought possible.

If you don't know where to begin, start with what you know. Start small, and work your way up. Think about what you've learned throughout your life. What have your failures been? What has been your greatest success? What were your greatest achievements?

You are the only person who can limit what you can do. You can accomplish anything, no matter what anyone tells you.

Benjamin Franklin once said that "Nothing will work without you."

What is the most important lesson you can learn from history?

This question doesn't have an easy answer. Learning can be viewed in three ways. We must first realize that knowledge is power. We must also recognize the fact that knowledge is cumulative. We must also be able to appreciate the speed at which knowledge can change.

Knowledge is power. It empowers us to make better choices and improve our lives. If we had all the information, it wouldn't be difficult to make decisions. We would always do what is best for us, and not worry about whether it was wrong or right.

Knowledge is not only power but also cumulative. This means that once we've learned something, we continue to add more knowledge to our brains. As time passes, we get smarter and smarter. Knowledge accumulates.

Now, let's look at the third point. While knowledge is cumulative, it doesn't stay static for very long. Information is constantly changing. Scientists learn new facts and theories every day. Every day, scientists discover new facts and theories.

Our culture is dependent on technology that allows us instant access to information. It is possible to store large amounts of data digitally and share it with millions of people around the world.

Globalization is changing the way that we view technology. Globalization is the process of ideas and products spreading across borders. Globalization has made knowledge accessible to everyone.

The internet enables anyone to access information anywhere in the world. You can surf the internet, read books, listen to music and play video games. Knowledge is required for all of these activities.

While knowledge is becoming increasingly accessible, it is also becoming more specialized. For example, if you go online today, you'll find hundreds of thousands of websites offering advice on topics such as health, finance, business, cooking, sports, and travel. These websites offer information on almost every topic you can think of.

If you want to buy a car online, however, you will likely only find a few dozen websites that provide automotive-related services. Instead of finding thousands of sites covering every conceivable subject, you'll find only a handful covering cars.

This is because experts can create and share valuable information in their particular fields. Experts are often experts in a specific field. Experts have the ability to create high-quality content specifically for their audience.

Consumers will appreciate this specialization because they won't have to go through tons of irrelevant information. Instead, they can focus on a small number of sites with lots of useful content.

Experts also benefit from specialization because they can build strong businesses around their expertise. He expects the author of a book to have a thorough knowledge of his subject to provide a clear and concise explanation. He wants to be sure that the author understands what he is trying to communicate.

Experts that aren't specialists risk losing potential clients who expect them to be experts.

It's not necessary to be a specialist in only one area. Today, most of us are specialists in many different areas. A specialist could be an accountant. It is also possible to be a parent, spouse, friend, or fan.

Some experts say that the commonality of specialization makes it impossible to succeed in many different areas.

How can you become an expert in multiple fields? The answer is easy: practice. You've got to put in the hours necessary to learn something. You can make great progress if you continue to work until people recognize you.

There are whole industries dedicated to helping others reach this goal. People can quickly learn through courses, workshops seminars, conferences, schools and other venues.

What are three things you can learn from history?

There are plenty of examples from history that show how we can learn lessons from our mistakes. We can apply them to today's business challenges and turn them into opportunities for growth.

The past has taught us that there is always a better way. There is always someone out there who thinks outside the box and takes risks that make them stand apart.

History also shows us that it's often the underdogs who succeed. When you feel overwhelmed, stuck or lost, think back to the times when they won.

Look back on the past and learn from it. Learn from the successes and failures of others.

These lessons will help you increase your success rate.

Can learning about history stop us from repeating past mistakes?

History repeats itself because we keep making the same mistakes again and again. We make mistakes and fail to learn. We don't change. We become complacent. We settle for mediocrity.

The same old stories are what repeat history. Our culture has conditioned us to believe there is an immutable law and a fixed truth. These laws are unchangeable and we have no control over them.

This makes it difficult to think critically. From challenging authority. Questioning authority. We don't grow if we don’t question. And when we don't grow, we stagnate. When we stagnate we make the same mistakes again and again.

However, history does not repeat itself because we keep making the same mistakes. History repeats itself because we don't learn from our errors and keep making the same mistakes.

It is possible to break the cycle of history repetition. You can change the way you see the world, and your perspective by realizing that nothing is fixed in stone. There is no set in stone. Everything is in constant flux.

Accepting uncertainty is the key to breaking this cycle. Accepting the possibility of things going wrong. Accepting the possibility that we might not succeed. To accept that failure is a possibility.

Accept that you may not reach your goals. But to accept that, you should strive to improve anyway.

You will always remain stuck in the past if you hold on to certainty. You'll never move forward if you cling to the idea that there are fixed truths.

To achieve freedom, you must be open to change. If you want to progress, you have to give up control.

How To

What can humankind learn from the past mistakes of our ancestors?

We've been there before and we'll likely be back. Learning from history is a good thing. It might even be a way for humanity to survive another crisis.

It is possible to make it through this life if you keep your mind open and learn from the lessons.

The problem is when we fail to learn from the past and refuse to acknowledge that human nature hasn't changed much since the beginning of time.

Although there is a lot to be learned from the old ways, we often ignore them as they are inconsistent with our beliefs. Instead of accepting changes that we find difficult, instead we hold on to what is familiar.

However, the world changes constantly and so does the way we live together. Our environment is becoming increasingly complex and we have more problems to solve.

This means that we also need to make changes. This makes us more susceptible to failure, as we won't have the same strategies that worked previously.

We lose sight of our values when we do this and we become slaves to the habits we have created.

Our brains evolved to adapt and cope with conditions that existed thousands upon thousands of year ago. These days won't last forever.

The future isn’t set in stone. There's still room for improvement.

Humans are capable of doing amazing feats. We can still create remarkable technologies. To explore new frontiers and discover unexplored territories.

And yet, we often choose to limit ourselves. To fear evolution. To reject evolution. To believe that what worked yesterday can work tomorrow.

This is what some people do to combat it. These people see themselves as fighters against the status-quo. Fighting against the system. Against the system.

They are rebels who pride themselves on challenging the conventions of society. They challenge the conventions of society.

They are against regulations and rules. They loathe conformity. They don't care much about social expectations. They think they are superior to everyone else.

I wish these people all the best.

It will be your lifeline!

You're facing a difficult battle. The forces driving mainstream society are strong.

In many places around the globe, the majority has no interest in listening to you. They are not interested in hearing your points of view.

It doesn't really matter how brilliant or well-intentioned you might be. Your ideas might not be accepted by the majority.

Your message could be lost on the ears of deaf people. You'll need to learn strange lessons from history.

This is where the true power lies. You can make a real difference here.

This is where others can be inspired to achieve their goals. You can help transform communities by building movements.

Let me ask you one question. Is it your goal to live up the other person's expectations all of the time? Or would you prefer to set your own course?
