Frequently Asked Questions
What can Abraham Lincoln teach us?
Abraham Lincoln said, “I am slow to understand; very fast to forget.”
He knew how important it was to keep learning because he understood that there would come a time when he would need to unlearn old habits and embrace new ones.
The same is true of our businesses. No matter how hard we plan for success there will be times where we run into roadblocks that cause us to get stuck in a rut.
It's important to keep learning and growing. Even after we achieve success, it is essential to continue learning.
Lincoln had the right mindset. He realized that he could not stop learning, even though he was able to be more productive in his business.
There are two types. Two types of entrepreneurs exist: those who stay busy and those with smart ideas.
Those who stay active focus on growing their business. They will be involved in product development, marketing strategies, customer service, or any other daily tasks.
Although they may feel they have achieved something significant, they often miss the mark. These entrepreneurs will not achieve sustainable growth unless they are focused on becoming smarter.
What sets successful entrepreneurs apart from ordinary ones? The ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances.
Entrepreneurs are successful because they look for ways of improving their products and services in the face of challenges.
On the other hand, average entrepreneurs cling to outdated methods that no longer work. They will not change their ways until they fail.
It is essential to learn both the art of adapting and self-reflection in order for success.
Who was the first to say that those who don’t learn from history are ignorant?
While we all would love to live in an ideal world that everyone learns from past mistakes, it is not possible to learn from our own mistakes.
It's not better to try something wrong than to learn how to do it right.
The only real mistake is not trying to ensure you do it right the first time.
As long you keep making adjustments, you'll eventually see the reason you made them.
It is possible to discover that you could have done things better the first time around.
This doesn't necessarily mean that you should stop trying. This means that you have learned a lot.
Although you might not be able make every mistake, it is possible to minimize them. That is what will make the difference in success or failure.
Recognizing your mistakes starts at the beginning. Look at your mistakes objectively, and then ask yourself: "What lessons have I learned?"
If you're honest with yourself, you'll realize that your mistakes are just lessons. They are learning opportunities.
And that's exactly what happened to Thomas Edison. He failed many times before inventing the light bulb.
He didn't let his failures discourage him. Instead, he saw each failure as an opportunity for improvement in his design.
He invented the best form of lighting that is popular today.
So, if you fail, don't get discouraged. Learn from your mistakes. You should learn from your mistakes.
And then try again.
What can our mistakes teach?
Do not worry too much about making mistakes. This means that you will learn something. But more importantly, when you make a mistake, you can change it. Don't fret about the little stuff, because mistakes are okay. We all make mistakes.
While it's possible to feel embarrassed when you make a mistake, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you should feel bad. It's the way you deal with your mistakes which matters most. You'll be unable to deal with them if they become a problem. Instead, see them as an opportunity for growth and you'll be stronger.
The best way to overcome a mistake is to acknowledge and move past it. It is important to not dwell on the mistake and instead focus on the next steps. Keep moving.
Don't be discouraged by your failures. Instead, learn from your mistakes and look for ways you can improve. Learn from your mistakes, and you will be a better person tomorrow.
Successful Inventions Created by Accident
Inventors make mistakes. However, how we react to these mistakes will determine whether or not our inventions are great successes.
When it comes to invention, there are no accidents. Every invention was designed. An accidental invention is not possible.
Invention is an intentional act. An intention to create something. A solution to a problem. You can make someone's life easier.
However, the key to creating a successful invention is understanding how nothing happens by accident. So, instead of avoiding mistakes, focus on learning from them.
We would love to tell you that invention is simple, but it's not. Invention takes persistence and hard work. It's not a quick fix. It takes time.
That means you must spend a lot of time thinking about problems and ideas. What is the most important thing for people? What do they really need?
Ask yourself these questions. These questions will help guide you in deciding what kind of product/service you should develop next.
This is possible only if you let go any preconceived notions. Don't make assumptions about what people want or need. Listen to your potential and current customers.
Learn what they really want. They are not what they say they want.
Once you have figured out their needs, you need to find a way to make it happen. This is where invention begins.
What are some lessons from history?
We have three lessons from history. First, to truly change the world, one must take responsibility for it. Second, when you change how people live, you must ensure they're ready for it. You can only change the future if it is better.
The first lesson is to recognize that there are two options for changing the world. One is to fight to get it. The other is to create. If you fight for it you lose sight on why you started to fight.
Although you cannot control the reactions of people to your ideas, you can control how they are presented. If you want to persuade someone, you'll eventually fail. But if you set out to inspire someone to action, you'll succeed.
The idea of a great movement was born when someone had it and took action. Whether you are creating change or responding to it, these are the three best ways to make your mark. Be clear about what is important to you, be open about where you came from, and dare to go where no one else has.
The second lesson we learn is that everyone has the option to choose. You can either let your life happen or you can choose to make it happen. This means that it is up to us to decide how we want our lives to be. Are we content to wait for someone else's approval to let us live? Or do we want to take charge of our destiny?
I believe we are living in a golden era. We have more opportunities than ever before which is creating excitement. It's exciting to see people feel empowered to shape their future.
This creates a problem. Because not everyone knows exactly what they want or even how to get it, it's important to figure out what you want and find a way to get it.
Let's take, for example, the desire to purchase a house. You could sit back and hope someone gives you a gift certificate to Home Depot. You could also ask yourself "What would you love to do?" Find a job that will allow you to do it. Final step: Apply for financing.
Let's pretend you want to travel all over the globe. You might ask yourself, "Where do I want to go?" Then, you'd start saving money, researching countries online, talking to friends, etc. The final step is to book a flight.
Let's suppose you don't know what you want. You would most likely do one of these things. Asking yourself these questions will increase your chances of getting the results you desire. Although it may sound silly, it is effective.
The third lesson is that you can always improve your future no matter what happens. It's easy. Our choices shape who we are and who we become.
The trick to success is to look back at history and learn from their mistakes and successes.
If you don’t feel you have any value to the world, you are already behind. You have to believe in yourself.
You don't need to know everything in order to start. Start small and then build on it. Consider what you have learned over the course of your life. What are you most proud of? What are you proud of? How did you overcome your obstacles?
You are the only person who can limit what you can do. No matter what anyone says, you can do anything you put your mind to.
Benjamin Franklin said, "Nothing will be successful unless you do."

How To
Accidental Discovery of Penicillin: Successive Inventions
How did penicillin develop?
Alexander Fleming, who had some bacteria cultures left behind, noticed that penicillin was growing on them. He was concerned that the mold might kill bacteria and so he sought out a way to destroy it.
He found that penicillin killed the mold, and then he realized that this new substance could also help fight infections caused by bacteria. Penicillin was a major medical breakthrough. It saved millions lives and changed forever the course of medicine.
At first, Alexander Fleming didn't know that his finding would be so important. No one else knew the same. Penicillin would soon be a powerful antibiotic.
Scientists discovered penicillin could be used to treat bacterial infections, but this was not until after World War II. In 1945, the U.S. Army contacted Dr. Fleming to see if penicillin could help soldiers who had been infected with deadly germs. Dr. Fleming was willing to give it a try.
It turned out that penicillin was effective against many different kinds of infection. It was a lifesaver to wounded soldiers during World War II. It saved many lives, and it was used by doctors to save more.
Dr. Fleming never expected his discovery to have such far-reaching effects. He wanted to make sure mold wouldn't grow on bacteria cultures that he had previously studied. But he couldn’t see how such an easy experiment would lead to such a simple medical breakthrough.
Truth is that most discoveries every day don’t appear to add up to anything significant. They're just experiments done for no particular reason.
It is amazing how sometimes seemingly insignificant experiments can transform history.
Discoveries that seem to have nothing in common end up being incredibly important. Penicillin was discovered. Or photography. Or electricity. Or even computers.
It is not because someone has a brilliant idea. It occurs because someone has a problem. Then they experiment to solve their problem.
