Back in 2006, scientists from Canada used infrared and laser imagining on the Mona Lisa to uncover a peculiar discovery underneath the many layers of the painting. Researchers discovered that underneath the painting there appeared to be other works of art trapped and covered up underneath that were never to see the light of day. Some of these pieces include rudimentary sketches created by Da Vinci that featured the Mona Lisa seated in different positions.
