The Earth is a place of wonder, fear and mystery. Nature is just as fascinating as it is terrifying yet it can create life and protect or entirely demolish everything we have built. The Balbina Dam was built in the 1980s in the depths of the Amazon. It was one of many dams built throughout the Amazon basin during that time.
