The Moon has long fascinated us, and scientists have found evidence of ancient humans using the Moon as a calendar. Various ancient civilizations studied celestial events, and many of these were detailed long before the first written language. This fascination has continued into the modern day, and thanks to advancements we have a better understanding of the Moon, its cycles and things like lunar eclipses.
