This episode looks at General Franco and his rise from a cautious conspirator in 1936, to become Europe's longest ruling dictator of the 20th Century. He fused together the conflicting ideologies of the Nationalists in a personal dictatorship, which sustained the interests of the middle class, ruthlessly suppressing all opposition.
