Stock car racing came to Britain from America seven years ago. Although there are now more than a thousand stock car drivers in Britain, many people still ask the question "is this a genuine sport or just an infantile craze?"

Stock car drivers include boys and women. There's 16-years-old Alan Wardropper, still too young to drive on the road, but already one of Britain's top ten drivers. Today's world champion is 33-years-old Johnny Brise, a Kent pig farmer and ex-motor racing driver. Tanya Crouch, who comes from Sussex, is one of the many women enthusiasts. This film describes how the drivers should never run short of material. They build their own cars from a variety of parts, most of which are picked up cheaply from car dumps. Look at Life brings the excellence of stock car racing into close-up at an actual track meeting in Northamptonshire. Here are all the thrills and splills, the bumps and smashes, that make up this breathtaking sport.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are three lessons history can teach us?

History is full of examples of how we can learn from our mistakes. These lessons can be applied to the challenges of business today and turned into opportunities for growth.

The past teaches us there is always another way. There's always someone out there that thinks outside the box, and takes risks that make him or her stand out.

History also shows us that it's often the underdogs who succeed. Look back at the times when an underdog won.

Look to the past and find ways to bring the lessons forward into the future. Learn from the successes and failures of others.

These lessons can help increase your success rates.

What lessons can be learned from history?

History has taught us three important lessons. To change the world, you have to do it all yourself. Second, when you change how people live, you must ensure they're ready for it. Third, the future must be better if you want to change it.

The first lesson is that you can change the world in two ways. The first is to fight for it. The second is to make it happen. Fighting for it is about winning, not remembering why you started fighting.

It is impossible to control how people respond to your ideas. However, it is possible to control how you present them. You'll inevitably fail if you set out to convince someone of something. But if you set out to inspire someone to action, you'll succeed.

Great movements were born out of an idea that was realized and then taken action. So whether you're creating change or reacting to it, the best way to make your mark is to follow these three rules: Be clear about what you want, be honest about where you come from, and be brave enough to go where nobody else has gone before.

The second lesson is that each of us has a choice. We have two options: we can wait for life to happen to you or we can make it happen. This means that it is up to us to decide how we want our lives to be. Are we willing to wait for someone to allow us to live? Or do you want to be in control of your destiny?

I think we're living a golden time right now. There is more opportunity than ever, which makes it exciting. People feel empowered to create their futures, and that's exciting.

This creates a problem. Because not everyone knows exactly what they want or even how to get it, it's important to figure out what you want and find a way to get it.

Let's suppose you want to buy your first house. You could sit back and hope someone gives you a gift certificate to Home Depot. Or, you can ask yourself, "What do I love to be doing?" Then, look for a job that lets you do it. Next, apply for financing.

Now, suppose you were to travel the world. It's possible to ask, "Where do you want to travel?" Next, you might start saving money, looking up countries online, and talking to your friends. Finally, you would book a plane.

Let's suppose you don't know what you want. You'd likely end up doing one of these things anyway. Asking yourself these questions will increase your chances of getting the results you desire. It may seem odd, but it works.

The third lesson is the ability to always improve the future, regardless of what happens next. It is easy to see why. Our choices impact who we become and who we are.

Use history to your advantage, to learn from other people's failures and successes and to keep improving until success.

If you don’t feel you have any value to the world, you are already behind. You have to believe that you're better than you thought you were.

You can start by learning what you already know. Start small and then build on it. Look back at the things you've done throughout your lifetime. Which areas have you struggled with? Which areas have you excelled? How did you overcome obstacles?

Remember that you are the only one who can limit your potential. No matter what anyone may say, you can do whatever you want.

Benjamin Franklin wrote, "Nothing works unless you do."

What do our mistakes show us?

When you make a mistake, don't worry about it too much because it's a learning experience. This means that you will learn something. However, it is possible to correct a mistake. So don't sweat the small stuff because there's nothing wrong with making mistakes. All of us make mistakes.

Even though you may feel embarrassed after making a mistake it doesn't mean you have to feel guilty. It's how you deal with your mistakes that matters most. You'll be unable to deal with them if they become a problem. If you look at them as opportunities for growth, they'll make you stronger.

Acknowledge and move past a mistake is the best way for you to overcome it. It is important to not dwell on the mistake and instead focus on the next steps. Keep moving.

Don't be discouraged by your failures. Instead, find ways to improve. Learn from your mistakes and be better tomorrow.

Successful Inventions Created by Accident

Inventors make mistakes. However, the way we react to those errors will determine whether our inventions turn out to be great successes or failures.

It is a fact that invention does not happen by accident. Every invention was done intentionally. There is no such thing as an accidental invention.

An invention is a deliberate act. An intentional decision to create something new. Something that solves a problem. You can make someone's life easier.

The key to success is not assuming that everything happens by accident. Instead of trying avoidable mistakes, learn from them.

As much as we would love to say that invention is easy, it isn't. Invention is hard work. It's not a quick fix. It takes patience.

You will need to spend a lot time thinking about ideas and problems. What are people concerned about? What do they require?

Ask yourself these questions. Questions that will help you figure out what kind of product or service you should develop next.

To do this, you have to put aside any preconceived notions. Preconceived notions about what the world needs or wants are not valid. You have to listen carefully to your customers and potential customers.

Learn what they really want. Not what they tell themselves they want.

Once you know what your customers want, it is time to create a way for them to get it. That's where invention begins.

What can we learn about Abraham Lincoln?

Abraham Lincoln said, "I am slow to learn; very quick to forget."

He was aware of the importance to continue learning, knowing that there would be a time when he would have to relearn his old habits and adopt new ones.

The same is true of our businesses. We will hit roadblocks sometimes, and get stuck in unproductive ruts no matter how many times we plan for our success.

That's why it's crucial to seek new ways to grow and evolve constantly. Even after we achieve success, it is essential to continue learning.

Lincoln had the right mindset. He recognized that while he could become more effective in his business, he couldn't stop learning.

There are two types: entrepreneurs. Those who stay busy and those who stay smart.

Those who stay active focus on growing their business. They will be involved in product development, marketing strategies, customer service, or any other daily tasks.

They may feel like they've accomplished something meaningful, but often they're missing the mark. These entrepreneurs will not achieve sustainable growth unless they are focused on becoming smarter.

What sets successful entrepreneurs apart from ordinary ones? Ability to quickly adapt to changing situations.

Entrepreneurs are successful because they look for ways of improving their products and services in the face of challenges.

On the other hand, average entrepreneurs cling to outdated methods that no longer work. They refuse to change course until their business fails.

To be successful, you have to master both the art and skill of self-reflection.
