For hundreds of years the waters off the Westcountry have always proved inviting for passing barbarians of every description. Time traveller Bryan McNerney recounts two tales of when hostile forces have brought terror to the Westcountry. We hear the roar of ships cannons as Bryan tells of the day the Spanish came to Mousehole, and the stories of the ill-fated Duke of Monmouth who led a small band of desperate men across the sea from Holland to Lyme Regis where he launched his campaign to claim the British throne.
