Documentary. Philip Seymour Hoffman was one of the greatest actors of his generation. But on 2 February 2014, Hoffman was found dead in his New York apartment. In his left arm was a single syringe. On the face of it, this would appear an open and shut case. However an examination of Hoffman's chemical makeup will reveal what happened in his final hours. To find out exactly what killed Philip Seymour Hoffman, Dr Jason Payne-James will study the history of his relationship with drugs and will reveal what finally led to this talented and successful actor's death.
