In 2008, Rolf Bae and Cecilie Skog would share their last kiss before attempting to reach the summit of K2. In 2008, 11 climbers perished on K2 in one day. At around 8:30 p.m., a group of Norwegian climbers were making their way through the Bottleneck when a huge chunk of glacial ice fell on them. As the ice hit the group, Rolf lost his footing and fell to his demise. Cecilie Skog not only witnessed this heartbreaking scene, but now had to save her own life.
