National parks, woodlands and trails are some of the most visited areas on the planet. They offer incredible views and can transport you to a place owned by nature. Although these scenic locations are popular tourists spots, with the National Park service saying that in 2021, the NPS received 297 million recreation visits, which is up 60 million visits, or 25.3% from 2020, they've also detailed that many people go missing in these areas every year, further detailing that throughout the United States, around 600,000 missing persons cases are reported each year.
